Project Extents
This project seeks to improve Rutgers’ most historic campus so that it provides a draw to top students and faculty, and encourages informal interactions among members of the university and neighboring communities. The initial phase of the College Avenue Greening Project is a transformation of outdoor spaces on the campus, and focuses on a 1/3-mile-long section of College Avenue between Huntington Street and Bishop Place. The key components of phase one are the College Avenue Promenades, the New Campus Green, and the Central Plaza including the Intercampus Transportation Hub and the Scarlet Carpet.
